The Mission of Kendal Outreach
In accordance with Kendal Values and Practices,
the mission of Kendal Outreach, LLC is to:

provide leadership in the field of care for the aging by taking an active role
in aging issues, thus contributing to improvement in services for all older
people in our society;
- inspire improvements in the field of aging, beyond its own
capacities to serve directly, through research, education, advocacy,
and innovation;

link the many outreach eforts that occur throughout the Kendal system.
Philanthropy has played a key role in the development of the Kendal organization and the Kendal idea promotes a culture of giving. The original articles of incorporation for the first Kendal continuing care retirement community stated that Kendal would “furnish...financial security for persons who have been admitted to such facilities by maintaining at less than the regular charges any resident who becomes unable to pay such charges...” Since that time, the scope of Kendal’s charitable activity has grown dramatically.
Kendal Charitable Funds, incorporated in 1989, is the umbrella organization for various philanthropic endeavors of The Kendal Corporation. In addition, residents of Kendal affiliates, together with the wider constituency, give to various funds to help ensure economic diversity in the resident population, assist residents who may come to need help, and support a variety of programs which benefit older people in general.
Worthwhile projects have come to fruition through generous gifts of time, talent, and treasure from residents, family members, and persons in the wider community. In every instance, these acts of philanthropy furthered the stated values and goals of the entire Kendal organization and enabled the following projects:
- ongoing programs of Kendal Outreach, LLC, and The Kendal Corporation and its affiliates;
- corporate and community internship programs serving students from high school through graduate school;
